Celeste Cortesi respects people's freedom to choose beauty enhancements or plastic surgery: "I mean, we're in 2023, come on. Everybody can do it! And again, like, it's your life. Your life, your rules. So, let's, you know, let everybody be free of doing whatever they want to do with their bodies."

Celeste Cortesi thinks it's high time people respect each other's decisions to undergo beauty enhancement treatments.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the Miss Universe Philippines titleholder expressed her strong beliefs that people should be free to decide whether or not to undergo beauty enhancement treatments or plastic surgery, if they choose to do so.

"Me, personally, I do not have anything against that," Celeste reiterated during the launch of Versace Home at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila last Friday, July 28, 2023.

Having undergone beauty enhancements herself, Celeste openly admits to her choices. She said, "I do it myself and I never deny that. I've always been pretty much open about the things I do. Because I don't find anything wrong with that."

Celeste recently encountered online criticism from netizens who made derogatory remarks about her tattoos and claimed her "fillers are too obvious and look disgusting."

Despite the bashing, Celeste remains steadfast in her belief that people have the right to pursue whatever makes them feel beautiful and boosts their self-confidence.

However, she does hope for greater sensitivity among people, recognizing the potential harm that hurtful words can cause.

She told PEP.ph, "I would just hope that, you know, people can be a little bit more sensitive because you don't know how much words can hurt somebody."

Celeste continued, "I mean, we're in 2023, come on! Everybody can do it!

"And again, like, it's your life. Your life, your rules. So, let's, you know, let everybody be free of doing whatever they want to do with their bodies.

PROPER SOCIAL MEDIA USE

Acknowledging the existence of online bashers, Celeste advocates for a halt to the spreading of negativity on social media.

She knows the challenges of dealing with haters, but believes in setting limits and using her voice to address issues that go beyond acceptable boundaries.

"Well, I think it's inevitable. I'm not new with the bashers. I'm not new to it.

"And I just feel like there is always a limit. Usually, I do not entertain any kind of bashing, not towards me and not towards other people.

"But there is a limit that sometimes is really crossed. So, I feel like I have the voice and the power to talk about it. So I do it.

"Because I don't want anybody to be in the same position as me. But you know how it is. It is inevitable."

While Celeste understands that controlling the entire network is impossible, she strives to create a positive environment for herself, her fans, and her followers.

"And at the end of the day, I know that I do good for me, for my fans, for my followers. And as much as I can, I try to protect the space and make it…

"You know, I always try to tell people be kind, be respectful, be sensitive, not just towards me but towards other people."

CELESTE'S TWITTER ACCOUNT

Despite the presence of negative comments, Celeste continues to find enjoyment in her social media presence.

Recently, she created a new Twitter account, with the intent of using it as a platform to share her thoughts on various topics and engage in interactions with her fans.

She said, "Honestly, I love it. You know, Twitter is a space where I can really talk to my fans and really interact with them.

"And I just find it super fun. And we really have the chance to, yeah, really talk to each other.

"So, you know, I keep Instagram very fashion, very… You know how it is.

"And then Twitter is more where we make comments, we talk to each other, we make fun with each other. So, yeah, I love it."

Ultimately, she hopes that people will heed her advice and practice kindness, not only on social media but in their everyday lives.

The beauty queen said, "I just hope that people can listen to it and get that as an advice and really practice that advice in everyday life. But you cannot control the whole social media network.

"And that's fine. So, you know, at a certain point, just don't handle them. And that's also okay."
