Vice Ganda disclosed that his own mother prefers to watch the rival of his show.
"Gusto raw niya manood ng live ng Eat Bulaga," disclosed Vice Ganda during the November 21 episode of It's Showtime.
His mother told him why she wanted to watch GMA-7's noontime show:
"Sabi niya, 'Ang dami ko nang nakitang artista ng ABS[-CBN]. Gusto ko naman makita si Bossing [Vic Sotto]."
For this reason, Vice Ganda promised his mother:
"Dadalhin kita sa Broadway pero baka ikaw lang ang papasukin."
The Kapamilya host then joked that he might be stopped by a guard at the gate since "bawal ang kabayo."
"Mag-aantay na lang ako sa labas, sa 'Sugod Bahay,'" said Vice Ganda about the Eat Bulaga segment hosted by JoWaPao (Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros) along with Maine Mendoza.
"Fan siya nina Tito, Vic, and Joey," said the Kapamilya comedian about the TVJ trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
"Kaya wala po ako bukas. Baka nandun ako sa Eat Bulaga, kumakaway."
Vice Ganda also quipped that Eat Bulaga offers bigger prizes to viewers compared to It's Showtime.
"Mas bongga dun! Mas malaki ang premyo dun kaysa dito. Totoo yun, mas malaki bigayan dun."
It's Showtime host Vhong Navarro later argued: "May prize na P5000!"
Vice Ganda shot back, "P5000, e, sa Eat Bulaga P100,000 ang pinamimigay.
"Kaya tinitipid namin kasi sa grand finals, malaki ang premyo namin.
"Meron tayong brand-new car donated by...Eat Bulaga!
"Yung mga sobra nila dun...iba po talaga ang Dabarkads, nagse-share.
"Iba talaga ang Kapuso."
Vhong prodded the comedian to reveal the other prizes to be given away at their grand finals.
Vice Ganda joked, "P2 million pesos cash...donated by Senate President Tito Sotto!
"Mabait po talaga sila doon kaya gusto ko yung station ID nila."
Vice Ganda then changed the lyrics of the ABS-CBN Christmas station ID theme song to:
"Kapuso is love / Kapuso is love"
Vhong pointed out that the actual theme song goes: "Family is love / Family is love"
At that point, Vice Ganda suddenly called out Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves who was spotted leaving the venue.
"Nicole, hindi pa tapos. Uuwi ka na?"
Vice Ganda teased her for always going to the toilet.
Vhong also joked: "Pupunta kang Eat Bulaga, 'no?"
ON ALDUB
Vice Ganda had the chance to joke around with Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant Gerald Kris Galero from Mindanao.
The contender performed "Kahit Sandali," which GMA-7 actress Jennylyn Mercado popularized.
While interviewing Galero, Vice Ganda instructed her to do a split-screen with her boyfriend who was present at the studio that day.
Galero and her boyfriend touched palms in split screen, similar to the split-screen romance of AlDub.
Back then, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza could not hold each other physically, and they could only interact with each other through split screen.
Vice Ganda pointed out, “Di ba, ganun dati sa AlDub… Tapos magkikita kayo sa Bulacan.”
When asked why he knew about the split screen, the Showtime host/comedian answered:
“Nanunood ako, e. Isa ako sa mga sumuporta sa AlDub.”
