Balik-ASAP si Martin Nievera simula ngayong Linggo, Disyembre 2, sa ABS-CBN.
“Hindi naman ako babalik. Hindi naman ako umalis ng ASAP!” bulalas ni Martin nang makausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertaiment Portal) sa opening ng The Work of Christmas exhibit nitong nakaraang Sabado ng gabi, Disyembre 1, sa Avellana Art Gallery, F. B. Harrison St., Pasay City.
“I was on tour of Europe for DZMM with Ahwel Paz.
“And because of the tour, wala ako sa first two episodes ng bagong format ng ASAP.
“So, I’m excited to go back. I’m excited for... it’s so nice to have new changes.”
“Every Sunday that I’m physically in the Philippines, yes!” mabilis na tugon ni Martin.
“Alam mo naman yung mga schedule natin.
“Lahat ng mga artist, ganun din.
“They go away. They go on tour. They come back.
“So, ASAP really has a hard time fixing all our schedules para ma-match.”
“CHANGE IS GOOD”
“All I can say is, change is good. Change is good,” seryosong sambit ni Martin.
“Personally, for me, the show didn’t need any kind of improvement.
“But who am I to say? I’m one of the artists. I’m inside looking out.
“Iyong mga outside looking in, ang mga sinasabi nila, kailangan mga bagong portion.
“'Tapos, may bago ring kasama sa show, sina Regine [Velasquez], di ba?
“So, we have to somehow improve the show.
“I think, the idea there of ASAP was to improve the portions that we already have.
“Change is good.”
“If you were to ask me, I think, ASAP was already good the way it was.
“I want to remember ASAP the way it is,” pagpapatuloy ni Martin.
“That’s why it’s hard for me to say the words ASAP Natin ‘To.
“It should really be our ... pag sinasabi mong ASAP Natin, ibig sabihin, kasama rin kayo. It is our ASAP.
“But for me, ASAP will always be ASAP, the way it was 25 years ago. The way it is today. I’m still the same guy.
“I’m just happy that I’m still on the show. And that we’re still looking for ways to entertain the people better and better every Sunday.
“We cannot naman stay in one place, one mode. Kailangan, gagaling at gagaling, di ba? Sana!”
ARTISTS ON ROTATION
Mas okay kina Yeng Constantino at KZ Tandingan ang set-up ng ASAP Natin ‘To na on rotation silang artists at hindi kailangang nasa programa tuwing Linggo.
“Iyon ang number 1 problem ng ASAP, ng any show on any channel, that has so many artists,” pag-amin ni Martin.
“Magbabanggaan talaga lahat ng mga schedule ng mga artist.
“So, this way, puwedeng mag-rotate lahat. And hindi magsa-suffer yung show ng ASAP.
“And the artists can do other things. They can still explore their musicality.
“Remember, the likes of Yeng and so on, they were all singers before they became regulars on ASAP.
“So, they need ... a singer needs to sing! A dancer needs to dance!
“And ASAP needs to entertain you and make you forget your problems!
“But at the same time, include you ... include you in our family.
“That’s why, I think, it’s called ASAP Natin ‘To. Dahil kasama kayo!” pagdidiin ni Martin.
DREAM TEAM
Mukhang sina Regine at Sarah Geronimo ang frontliners ng ASAP Natin ‘To.
“That’s a dream team talaga,” sabi ni Martin wala ni katiting na bahid ng bitterness.
“And now we’re showing you, na anything is possible on ASAP.
“So they made what we once thought was impossible, they made it possible by joining Regine and Sarah.”
