After the official run of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2016 ended on January 3, 2017, the MMFF Executive Committee released the official ranking of the eight official entries.
In an email sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by the MMFF, it was revealed that two entries came out as the top-grossing movies based on ticket sales in Metro Manila and in the provinces.
Jun Robles Lana’s Die Beautiful took the top spot in Metro Manila theaters, while Star Cinema’s Vince & Kath & James was the highest-grossing film entry in provincial theaters.
In provincial theaters, Vince & Kath & James was followed by Seklusyon, Die Beautiful, Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2 #ForeverIsNotEnough, Saving Sally, Sunday Beauty Queen, Oro, and Kabisera.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila theaters, trailing Die Beautiful box office sales are Seklusyon, Vince & Kath & James, Saving Sally, Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2 #ForeverIsNotEnough, Sunday Beauty Queen, Oro, and Kabisera.

No official figures aside from the rankings were released by the MMFF Executive Committee.
In an Instagram post, however, Star Cinema revealed that Vince & Kath & James breached the P100 million mark as of January 3.
The MMFF 2016 was scheduled to run for only 10 days, beginning on December 25, 2016 and ending on January 3, 2017. However, some cinema owners agreed to extend the screening of selected MMFF entries until January 7.
